Rosehip
Rosa canina
Rosehips contain valuable vitamin c, but also are a rich source of polyphenolic compounds - proanthocyanidins and flavonoids such as quecertain and catechin. The high phenolic and flavonoid content of rosehips has been observed to correlate with antioxidant activity. (17)
A study showed that the antioxidative effects of Rosa canina (rosehip) are due not only to vitamin C but also to these polyphenolics. (18)
Our raw rosehip powder is grown in South Africa and is certified organic by USDA Organic.
It has been demonstrated that the galactolipids found in rosehip may be important for its anti-inflammatory activity on diseases such as arthritis. (19)
Rosehip has shown promising results in controlled trials for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and back pain. And also has shown the ability to regulate blood glucose and blood lipid levels. (20)
